Worcester City Amateur Boxing Club schoolboy Michael Cullen beat Wayne Smith of Droitwich ABC at the public show in Stoke Prior.

An even first round saw both boxers finding their range. Fast combinations from Cullen towards the end of the round was met with the same from Smith.

During rounds two and three, Cullen turned up the pressure and forced the Droitwich lad to hold in an attempt to calm the onslaught. Cullen started to pull away from Smith during the second with the more accurate punching. Fast jabs racked up the points in favour of the Worcester boxer.

During round three, the referee gave Smith a public warning for continually holding. The point deducted sealed the win for Cullen by way of a unanimous decision.
